Antique Italian painting dated 1881. Oil on canvas, first canvas, painting depicting a countryside landscape with a shepherd and cows, beautifully painted. Spectacular carved and gilded wooden frame with a fabulous décor. Oval painting mounted on a rectangular stretcher and canvas (see photo), signed on the right edge "Merlo 81" (see photo), attributed to the painter Camillo Merlo (1856-1931), lacking authentication.
An ideal artwork for a large living room or study, for antique dealers, interior decorators, and collectors of 19th-century Italian paintings. The perspective, unused by the painter, is pleasing, and the painting enjoys good luminosity. In good condition. Internal dimensions: H 155 x W 113 cm.
