A magnificent 17th-century Italian painting. This artwork oil on canvas depicts a captivating religious subject, the Holy Family with Saint Anne and the Infant Saint John the Baptist. It is a reworking of Giulio Romano's painting known as "The Pearl," currently exhibited at the Prado Museum in Madrid. Inspired by a study by Raphael and likely with the master's collaboration, the large panel was nicknamed "The Pearl" by King Philip IV of Spain because it was considered the most prestigious work in his collections.

Compared to the original, some details have been altered: the color palette is less vibrant, and the chiaroscuro is reinterpreted according to the model of Baroque naturalism. The composition emphasizes domestic tenderness rather than theological solemnity, depicting an emotional and intimate scene. At the center, we see the Virgin Mary gently embracing her mother, Saint Anne. Baby Jesus, seated between them, gazes tenderly at the Madonna while accepting pomegranates from the Infant Saint John, a prophetic symbol of the Passion.
