This painting depicts Rebecca at the Well, a biblical subject with a pleasing luminosity, characterized by numerous details and great dynamism. Rebecca is depicted offering water to Eliezer, Abraham's messenger charged with finding the bride chosen by God for his son Isaac.

The painting has undergone conservative restoration, with later paneling and retouching of the color in some areas.
