Antique French painting from the first half of the 19th century. Oil on canvas artwork entitled Solomon and the Queen of Sheba, of excellent pictorial quality. A beautifully sized and impactful painting, richly adorned with a scenic carved and gilded wooden frame.
A painting with pleasing depth, still vibrant in color. On the left, we see city architecture with a crowd watching the scene. A page is also present, accompanying a splendid white horse, likely a gift from the king to his guest. At the center of the scene, the king is seated on his throne, with the young queen in sumptuous attire at his side. On the right, several court figures, also dressed in showy attire, are attending the meeting.
A well-preserved artwork that has undergone conservative restoration, relining, replacement of the stretcher, and restoration of color in small areas. In good condition. Internal dimensions: H 85.5 x W 110.5 cm.
