Clearly inspired by Anton van Dyck's masterpiece, the artwork effectively echoes the Flemish master's celebrated compositional style, characterized by close-up figures and a strong emotional interplay between them.
Christ, wrapped in his traditional red cloak, emerges with noble composure, while the surrounding figures, gathered in poses of devotion and repentance, accentuate the scene's pathos through a refined interplay of gestures and gazes.
