Large 17th-century Italian painting. This oil on canvas artwork depicts a rich composition of fruit arranged on stone steps before a broad landscape. The dominant element is the two large bunches of grapes that descend with natural elegance toward the center of the composition. Around them are gathered peaches with velvety skin, silvery plums, and a large pumpkin, arranged with apparent spontaneity. The large vine leaves, tinged with reddish and golden hues, introduce a seasonal note that suggests the arrival of autumn.
